Everyone Fuzzbungle plays for Northcote and loves himself BIGTIME,we use to call him FIGJAM in the ECA.His name starts with O'Shea. If you get the chance hit him out of the park, he will be the one walking around with a pole up his ar$e.
 
Well, let's hope that we can get two full days of cricket this weekend before we launch into the "hit and giggle" games that lead into Christmas. The idea of playing Twenty20 matches for true premiership points was obviously a good idea prior to the season, and yes, no-one could have foreseen the chaos that the season is in following the rain, but we could get to the Christmas break with some players not having had a meaningful hit during the bulk of the season.

Anyhow, on to this weekend's games which, because of the interruptions and lost games, means that every win could be classed as a double as the number of matches remaining quickly diminishes. The highlight matches appear to be Ringwood hosting Prahran and Dandenong welcoming St Kilda.

Dandenong rock and rolls St Kilda on a wet one. Butterfield and Boland take big hauls for the weekend. Northcote nullified out at Casey, Wade coming back obviously didn't help their cause. Delmont gets a ton on debut, certainly brings an extra facet to the Tigers' game.

With Victoria having a Three Day game against the visiting Poms, be interesting to see who they give games to, thus missing the T20 double, and those Vic players who are allowed to play. Talk is that Herrick will definitely get a guernsey; will they bring back Keath from U/19 duty?
 
Which of the teams not currently in the top 8 will make the finals, and who will they replace?

Interesting conundrum this - if none of the above were to be imported, how about home grown stock of Jayde Herrick, Marc Carson, Trent Walerys, Peter Dickson, Sam Coates and Andrew Kent. Some could make it now, some might have made it in the past and some might never make it at all, but we'd never know because this is all hypothetical and they'd never stop recruiting

Could also possibly add Tom Stray and Joe Loorham
 
I can see Footscray falling out. I don't think that Dandenong are one of the top 6 sides, but they've had a great start to the year. Still, don't put it past them to have a late season slump, seen it before and Dempsey's curse of not making finals could well continue.

Frankston and St Kilda are the obvious choices to re-enter the fray in their place. Prahran need to make a run in the T20 stuff coming up, although having McGain for the rest of the season is a distinct possibility, and will be a huge asset to a team that could well struggle to take wickets in 2 day cricket without him.

I have a feeling that both Footscray Edgewater and Casey South Melbourne are likely to slip out of the top eight and be replaced by two of either Frankston Peninsula, St Kilda or Prahran.

With the lost rounds that we have already had, this bracket of Twenty20 matches over the next couple of rounds is most likely to significantly change the landscape of the competition ladder with a couple of teams like Prahran, Geelomg and Melbourne suited to this format with their current lineups. That said, Prahran, with some big hitters in their lineup, do have to negiotate Dandenong, Fitzroy Doncaster and Melbourne in three of their next four matches.
 
An interesting, and noteworthy, achievement by the Blues captain Nathan Pilon, recently. Apparently he has been named in Sydney Grade Cricket club, St George's All-Time Best Team. And some very illustrious names in the squad.

The team was selected as : Murray Bennett, Stephen Bernard, Sir Don Bradman, Brian Booth, Alan Fairfax, Les Favell, Ray Lindwell, Arthur Morris, Kerry O'Keeffe, Norm O'Neill, Bill O'Reilly and Nathan Pilon(Wk)

Wouldn't mind that team taking on the Poms at the WACA !
 
As we enter into the T20 phase, a couple of key points:

Bowling teams: the success of St Kilda last year illustrates the importance of having five reliable bowlers in your side for T20 cricket.
Beware the Poms: the English imports all have a great amount of experience in the format compared to the antipodeans, and need to be respected.
Wood on the Rams: Ringwood have traditionally struggled in T20 cricket, and have won very few matches in this format over the past few years. Now it's for points, so be interesting to see how they travel.
 
Well, the Premier Cricket season now starts to get nice an interesting after all the interruptions, as we head into the real "hit and giggle" season - and I don't mean Christmas and the New Year.

With so many rounds washed out, these short matches sees the competition venturing into the unknown, although some form line could be taken from some of the 1-Day matches under that new format for this season.

All being well, there could be some exciting big hitting and close finishes in these matches. The highlight match will probably be at the run-friendly Toorak Park where some big hitters from Prahran and Dandenong will be trying to place the little white ball amongst the Christmas traffic on Orrong Road. Other matches of interest are the St Kilda vs. Fitzroy Doncaster and Frankston Peninsula vs. Ringwood clashes.

Would think that it's somehow related to not being able to hold a regular spot in CSM 1's. He made a 40-odd early on but has been in the 2s recently. Should be able to slot straight in to the middle order at HMU though, they're a bit light on for experience, and someone to take a bit of pressure off Dale Tormey would be good too
 
Surely now it is time to admit that District cricket has become "ho, hum". Some of the blokes getting games in the first XI are blokes that would struggle in First XI park cricket.

Well, as anticipated, the first of the brace of Twenty20 matches has certainly shaken up the Premier Cricket landscape, and with another round today, who knows where teams might be sitting come the end of the day. And with some teams suffering from the loss of stars to the Bushrangers, it has given some lesser lights the opportunity to shine.

Probably the biggest shock from Round 9 was the Bombers getting over the Dragon, while the Saints capitulation to the Lions has put a dent in their finals aspirations. In today's round, there are a number of important clashes, none the least being the game at Ringwood where the visitors, Footscray Edgewater could relinquish their finals spot with a loss. The top match, though is likely to be out in the outer eastern suburbs where Casey South Melbourne will match up against Geelong, who have a long trip just to get to the ground ! Although this format of the game can throw up unexpected results, all other matches appear to have an obvious favourite/winner.

He's more interested in 200 First XI games than possible finals action
