Mighty bombers got up which is one of those good results.LLoydy is back

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

good game?

wasn't that good. Hawthorn should have won by more (Franklin 1.6) but they wasted opportunities, so did Adelaide though.

The only thing that made it good was the last 10 minutes, and the reporting of Franklin.

Will he get suspended? we'll found out about protected species on Monday. If Goodes got off, Franklin will, but then Murphy should have, Burton possibly should have --- and now i've opened up a can of worms.

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

Dogs will be found out in September.

Collingwood may challenge but Hawthorn/Geelong are definite standouts.

Watch out for Sydney also.

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

Decent win by the Cats last night
What do we all think of the little bald fella running around in the middle? Not too bad?

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

Round 14 - Split Round

Hawthorn v West Coast @ MCG - The Eagles are a rabble ATM, having suffered two 100+ thrashings in recent weeks. This could get ugly if Buddy has his kicking boots on :)

Richmond v Carlton @ MCG - Looking forward to this one, should be a massive crowd and a good contest. Game of the round @|

Kangaroos
v St Kilda @ GC - The Roos to grind out a win against the Saints. Not the best game to sell the AFL up North.

Western Bulldogs v Port Adelaide @ Darwin - Dogs too good for a disappointing Port.

Melbourne v Brisbane @ MCG - Should be pretty one sided.

Fremantle v Essendon @ Subiaco - Should be a close contest and I think we will just get up. The re-selection of the bulimic albino is one of the most bizzare in the club's history  Might make the trip up for this one.

Adelaide v Geelong @ AAMI - Geelong for me but Adelaide are good value for an upset at $5 IMO.

Sydney v Collingwood @ TS - Sydney even without the AFL's love child.

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

Hawthorn wernt that flash tonight but still won by 10 goals.

Kerr and Priddis 40, 45 possies respectively.

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

you still can't beat the boys of the Bulldog breed!

Was an ordinary game last night: but we did our bit to win the game - particularly with the 2nd quarter.

GO THE BULLDOGS!

Re: Who will win the AFL flag?

Geelong, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Sydney stand head and shoulders above the rest of the comp. Adelaide, Brisbane and Collingwood are thereabouts after that.

North, Carlton, Port and St Kilda are really just going to be making up the numbers whoever finishes in the eight.

Fremantle, Essendon, West Coast and Richmond are after that then the Dees - apart from a great win this week - are clearly the worst side going around.

I see it differently.

Geelong, Hawthorn and the Bulldogs are the best three sides in the competition. It's unfortunate that one of them will miss out on the Grand Final.

Sydney are by themselves. They're better than the other 13 teams but not as good as the top three. Kind of a "no man's land" situation.

Adelaide, Brisbane, Collingwood and North are the next best four clubs. Can't see any of these teams going further than the semi-finals although they are very good when on song.

Carlton and St. Kilda are next and are probably the only two teams outside the eight who have a realistic chance of playing finals football. Can play good football when they are on their day but can also be very ordinary.

Richmond, Port and Essendon are next. Good in glimpses but we don't see their best work often. Richmond could make the finals in 2009, Wallace is slowly turning them around.

Fremantle, West Coast and Melbourne are the three worst sides. Fremantle can argue they've lost games by close margins but if they were any good, they'd win those games. Also doesn't help when you recruit spuds like Kepler Bradley (Kram :D). The Dockers need to do a major cleanout and despite the protests from some fans, they do need it. Short term pain is a lot better than continually being uncompetitive. Their youngsters look pretty good too and of course they have Pavlich. West Coast are terrible but their kids looks good and like Fremantle, need a massive clean out. Too many players have been carried for the past few years while some are past their best. The future looks pretty bright but I don't expect to become more competitive until 2010. Melbourne are also shocking, they too have some decent youngsters but their problems go deeper than just on-field performances. Their financial situation is a bit of a worry however with Jim Stynes at the helm should see them return to better fiscal prospects.

So, considering we are at the break, who is your pick for the flag at this stage? I'm still going with Geelong. They are looking too damn good at this point. Hawthorn and the Bulldogs will give them a run for their money but they don't seem to have many weaknesses.
