Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Good to hear that you are back on track. Take care. I have been adding some shoulder warmups to keep it in shape. BTW, I recently started dead hangs and it seems to have improved my overall shoulder fitness (I just hang on the bars for 30 secs, 3 times a day).
We are now in the mid-30Cs with heat indexes touching 40C. The next match this Sunday is going to be brutally hot with 70% humidity. The UV index is also very high and we have to be ready. I will post how it went after the match.
How did it go?

Can your blokes beat the Black Caps. Pretty even after first day in Test one on what seems, going on the low scores, a seamers deck.
Looks like it, Lords looks like it's finished as a test venue for a while, it's crook and needs a £12,000,000 re-furb, the whole square, dug up, re-plumbed and the earth dug out and replaced it seems. They reckon it'll be out of action for 2 years. Some pundits are saying that it'll need the ECB to make the move and drop their status as a test venue. It'd be good to see the Kiwis dig in though and give it their best shot and at least string it out for 4 days, but with the way it's playing I'm not hopeful. What do you reckon?

I think the gazunda that castled Bethell says it all about the state of the home of cricket. With only 996 balls bowled, it was the third fewest in any Test in which both teams were bowled out. Was Lord's 150th Test match as well.

How did it go?
I have played 9 matches so far this season and I have been inconsistent. One match I was absolutely on target, finished my 4 over quota and even bagged wickets. The next match I would bowl wides and half trackers and removed from attack after 1 over. I am playing every weekend now and going to nets at least once during the week days. I have no issues in the nets at all, the inconsistency is during the matches. Couple of things I noticed and I am trying to see what I can do to improve here.
1. First 1 or 2 balls is critical. If I start my spell with no wides, I tend to continue well. If I start with a wide (did that in 4 matches so far), things do downhill quickly after that. Basically nerves and I have to try and feel relaxed.
2. Trying too many things: I changed my action, approach to the crease, load up etc. I should stop trying many things.
3. Batsmen playing it safe: As a leg spinner, I think I am more potent if batsmen are trying to attack me. We did not put a good score last match and there was no scoreboard pressure when chasing (RR < 6). Batsmen did not take any risks against me and simply rotated for singles or doubles. Due to the state of the match, my captain wasn't ready to keep attaching field for me. I can persuade for the field I want but 9 matches is just too small of a sample size for him to back me up.

I have more matches to come this month & in July. We are in playoffs now (won 5 in a row after losing the first 4). 2 more wins and we win the Spring tournament. I will keep you guys posted.
