DVCA Juniors 2010/11

This is what i think who the key players are for their teams in the top 6
No particular order

Thomastown/St.Francis
Batting:
Dean crockett
Rheece lewis
Declan paras
Paul Dempsy

Bowling:
Gaurav Joshi
Dean crockett

Who havent performed: Basanisi, Mcswain
Who have potenital: Suprised that Dempesy isnt having much of a go and i think that Joshi has potential to bat surprised why they havent had him batting u top or in the middle order at least

I think the fielding lacks down and bowling their lacks down after Joshi has done his spell, theirs no real bowling fire power that can back up Joshi's spell. I put Crockett their because aparrently his very accurate

Lower Plenty
Batting:
Liam hunt
Matt Byron
Bill jenkins
Jesse lowe

Bowling:
Liam hunt
bill jenkins
Jesse lowe

This team have very good all rounders

Diamond Creek
Batting:
Phelan
Smith
Freeman

Bowling:
Shallard
Phelan
Smith (Very handy)
Freeman
Ryder

Also another good ream with all rounders

North Eltham Wanderes
Batting:
Davine
Luke Sandy
Curl

Bowling:
Hincliffe
Curl

This team very reliable of luke sandy to make most of their runs

Riverside
Batting:
Potter
Nolan (surprise package)
Bergman

Bowling:
Money
Gedge
Nolan

Potential: Think that Josh Money is a great bowler and is very handy with the bat, so i think he should be up their

South Morang
Batting:
Watson
Van meween

Bowling:
Mcewon
Moran
Lemin
Van meween

Keeper:
Southern (Very good keeper i know that)

This is who i think are the key players for their clubs that are in top 6 ready to make it into the 4

How did u think the Dvca U/16 Beitzel and Mackay went against the other leagues? I also think that Mackay can beat the Beitzel. A couple of players in Mackay should have been in Beitzel. If you think so Who do u think the players are and who should have been replaced

Ye Basanisi and McSwain have definatly both under-performed, however Basanisi has only played the 3 two dayers, and McSwain has only played 3 one dayers, which seems to be their preferred formats

any y is Sandy in red?

Lachlan Potter from Riverside has definately under performed so far this season.

And what do we think of Riverside's chances come finals time?
they have a lot of depth.

I dont think you can say that Lachlan Potter has "under performed" when he has NEVER domianted at junior level he is an average junior cricketer, i am not saying he is a dud but hes not that good.

And i dont think Riverside will make finals because they dont have any match winners, they are a balanced team but every succesfull premiership team has had at least one match winner and im afraid Riverside just don't have that.

Sandy is in red because the team rely on him to much to make a good score

yeah
good write up swifty.
i don't think the Mackay team would beat the beitzel team. that is a joke

a lot of average players in the beitzel team.

your right about Potter
he isnt that goood.

but it think he's won 2 league batting averages.
2006/07
159 runs @ 159.00

2008/09
374 runs @ 374.00

the only reason he won those averages is because he like a wall, makes slow runs, and is difficult to dismiss
and in those 2 years that cost his team severly

yeah mate coz im sure his team wouldve been a lot bbetter off if he made 20 runs in both of those years ;)

Well he does bat slow.
If he even gets a start
he was lucky to be in the Beitzel team but no one else was.

Joshi and Judd both unlucky

Jeez Lachlan must have dominated that year with a huge 159 runs at an avg of 159 maybe he should have made more runs and his team might have done a little better. And when he won in 08/09 i think at least 6 players in the whole of the under 14s (blue and teal) made more runs than him. Averages mean nothing unless you make at least 500 runs and go out once Lachlan.

I think when he made the 159 Riverside actually made the Grand Final and lost by just 1 wicket. so yeah.....

Big next round in the 16 1's this week.

The Siders (5th ,27 points , 1.14 %) vs. Thommo Utd ( 3rd, 27 points, 1.85 %) @ THOMMO

Huge game winner will defineatly play finals. Could be close.

North Eltham ( 4th, 27 points, 1.39 %) vs. Lower Plenty ( 1st, 33 points, 1.67 %)

Also a very important game, If North Eltham lose they could be out if Riverside win.

Interesting how its panned out should be a good finish to what has been a very interupted season.

Who's your tip for both games and who are the key players that will help their team make a finals charge?

I think I'll have to go Lower Plenty and Riverside in a close one

Haha Important players for these teams are...

Lower Plenty - Byron, Hunt, Staples and Connop, Jenkin
All very talented palyers, Hunt a very good allrounder. Byron and Jenkin can both bat very well. Connop as a bowler and Sam as there spinner who also bats well.

North Eltham - Sandy, Curl, Hinchliffe, Hannah, Horkings and Davine.
Sandy's gunna need to fire.

Riverside - Nolan, Bergman, Gedge, Linssen, Bowman and Potter
Gedge and Bowman both need to bowl well.
Nolan and Bergman both have been going well.
Linssen for his bowling and batting and also Potter for his batting which has been a disgrace haha!

Thommo/ STFA - Lewis, Crockett, Dempsey, Joshi and Paras
Very talented team with a lot of up and coming stars.

And ill add in Diamo
- Smith, Freeman, Shallard, Ryder and Phelan
Also a very talented team. have some quality players especially Freeman.

Um don't know too many of them apart from the Riverside boys but going on what I've heard and seen i'd go with:

Banthorpe (Plenty)
Stanley (NEW)
Ireland (Diamo)
Shallard (Diamo)
Love (Lower Plenty)

Even though he is not playing 14s ones. tom simpson from hurstbridge is one of the best i have seen in a while
