India In Australia 2011/12

OK so when i warned not to take the Indian batsmen lightly because they are due i might have been off the money.
You have to hand it to the bowlers, they really have a taste for it now and Siddle is a new bowler. I say that it is all over for Johnson but if McDermott can do this with these guys i wonder what he can achieve with Johnson. So good to see the openers cash in, Clarke has broken the spirit of the Indian Bowlers now we must make them pay, bat well and a 350 lead is in the taking.

Siddle has to be in career best form at the moment, and Hilfy is bowling how we all hoped he would against the Poms. Harris, fits in like a good old shoe, and even Starc showed some movement and promise and chipped in with 2. The bowlers can't do a thing wrong at the moment.

Gee, gotta admit that was pretty damn good. Australia were awesome but India were woeful. You've got to wonder about the mental state of India now, thrashed in the last test and flogged today. Staring down the barrel of another innings defeat if Australia keep things going.

India continue their terrible form away from home, lost something like 8 in a row now and could be 9 here. Fair to say the younger players need to be brought in, particularly in the batting department. Dravid needs to be moved on as does Laxman, they've been great servants but fresh blood is required. Perhaps another opener too as Gambhir is having a torrid series.

0 for 214, India's morale must be absolutely shot. Magnificent to see.

edit* lol I had to do it, Yadav knocks Cowan over for 74.

Warner finally gets caught in the deep for 180, Australia's RPO 5.29 so far for the innings, that's just crazy.

What a days play and i thought yesterday was good. Only one problem tomorrow is only day three and i doubt we will make lunch, what to do the rest of the day. Still some questions about consistency there and as for Haddin, please.

Should we be getting excited about the bowling, or is this just a very dire Indian lineup?

Clearly what has been a very powerful batting lineup are in deep trouble, even Tendulkar has looked plain, but we need to look back over the past 10 tests and to a degree the performance of the bowlers has shown a steady improvement. The current success is obviously a build up over the series and we can not expect it to be this heady all the time. If Adelaide is it's usual dead pitch it may well test our attach in a way they need before the West Indies. But what are the key issues that have seen the change in fortunes. Johnsons injury seems to have been a favour, he suffers inconsistancy and that has been the key for the current attach. They are consistant on the line and length they want and they are swinging the ball. The lack of swing cost us dearly over the last 5 years now we are going somewhere.
Batsmen are our problem, big time. Warner was explosive but we all know that will only go so far in test cricket, and the rest of them are plain inconsistant. It is fair enough to look at the pitches and what scored the other teams have got, but in those ten tests we have had two fatal collapses and a couple of others we had to bowl our way out of. Perth was a good example, warner set it up then the rest fell away with some dopey batting.
Yes India are sad, change will come for them but we have work to do ourselves.

Three batsman passed 50 for the entire game. Whilst the pitch was reasonable the ball was still seaming and swinging around a fair bit so the pitch favoured the bowlers more than the batsmen. Ponting and Cowan got pretty good balls too, most international players would have struggled to keep those out. I do get where you are coming from though but both sides found the going out there hard with the exception of a few.

Adelaide will be the test though, particularly for the bowlers. Batting order needs to fire too, minimum of 400 in the first innings if you want to be competitive.

Do you think Australia will win 4-0 against India or do you think India will win because Adelaide is like the wickets they play on in the sub-continent will favour India

Good question and a good test for Australia with a tour to India not far off and we all caught the carry on over there about how they will humiliate us in India.
We are favoured to win and i think we probably will, the best hope for India is that there basmen fire and they manage a draw. The Indian bowlers are only OK at the moment and they lack a spinner. Lyon is as good as anything they have and he has the part time of Clarke and Warner to back him.

Yea It all depends on how India bat at Adelaide. If Sehwag gets going Australia will have no hope. He is stand in captain for this test so hopefully he stands up for the team. Warner and Clarke both are handy spinners and Lyon is better than Ashwin. It all depends on how the big 4 players stand up for India. Haddin will need a big score as Mat Wade is knocking down the door for test selection. One of the bowlers will have to go for Adelaide as it would be silly to play four quicks there.

India have done very well to have Australia 3 for 98 at lunch with 2 wickets surprisingly from the spin of Ashwin. Ponting and Clarke really need to regroup and get a total of at least 400, India will love batting on this pitch.

And now Kram at 3/160 they have no slips. I am trying to work out how they are going to get wickets at this stage.

Yeah it's hard to see them getting either of these guys out atm. The Clarke edge going straight between the keeper and the floating slip was pretty funny, I swear I've never seen that tactic work.

The ship now steadied at 3 for 214 at tea.
