2014/2015 Barclay Shield

I will attempt I you like.
It appears that their B grade team is 3 points ahead of Lower Eltham and are trying to avoid relegation .
Seems the most likely why they have stacked their seconds

Sorry Serg, I understood why they did it, just wanted someone from Bundoora to try and justify it.

What a disgraceful effort by both clubs in dropping regular 1's blokes into their 2's to save relegation. Not only does it screw with the integrity of B grade but spare a thought for Epping in Barclay Shield and to a less extent Macleod.

However.... The DVCA have got blood on their hands with this. They were the ones who changed the structure a few years ago to stop this practise.... Well congratulations DVCA have well and truly ************ up... When we change to 3 divisions make the right decison and go back to Reserve grades and piss off this relegation shit for 2's and then we don't have this problem anymore

Spot on

Just playing within the guidelines set by the comp.. Been a long year and we did what we think is right for OUR club. If we are good enough to win it has no relevance to the B grade ladder at the top end as Whittlesea are 2 games clear.
Lower Eltham have also played Matt Salvatore who top scored in "A" grade last game as well as McKinnon who took 5fa in the 2s this match so looks like we were on the same page.

And Tongs, dropped 3 blokes

Shit form from Lower too then. Sorry I didn't catch that before I posted earlier.

As I said earlier, absolutely disgraceful.

What about the Barclay top spot up for grabs if your ones could beat Plenty and Macleod win? Stacking sides like this has flow on effects across multiple grades.

Same for Lower with their ones being dismantled by Rosanna which could cost Epping a finals they've worked hard for since Xmas winning some big games.

Epping and Macleod would be filthy with this display.

Shame, shame, shame.

You beat me to it!

Spot on PA.

Must be mssing something here. How is macleod affected by this ?

Previous post was saying if Bundoora beat Plenty and Macleod win that Macleod finishes on top. Fair point but not a likely one IMO. Unfortunately the last 8 overs of the day cost us again as the boys who did play in our 1s did a great job to restrict Plenty to under 200 after being 2/140.

Has any team ever gone 8 and 3 and not made finals ?

We did late 90s or early 00s. Last game of the season Lower Plenty & Eltham decided to play a 4 x 40 game as both teams needed 10 points to play finals. Outright result was achieved and we missed - think we got beat by Thomastown Utd the same round so ultimately our own fault!!

Jas hasn't played since the first week of round 8. Thanks for your insight though.

4!!!
That's four(4) regular Barclay players that played "B"Grade!

Put as much spin on it as you like but it's still Four(4)!

Cute effort though

No spin, I only stated originally how many we dropped. Someone asked why we did it and I responded.

Don't care if people don't agree with it but that's not my concern. Did what we though was best for our club under the circumstances. End of story.

No more BigCricket for me but thought I'd respond after the question was raised. Good luck to all lucky enough to be playing finals in 2 weeks time.
