APS Season 2006/2007

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

i dunno. outrights in cricket always keep the season edgey. look at melbourne last year. they lost one or two games and still almost won. so you cant really rule any of the major teams out yet

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

Brighton Grammar will win everygame from now on. They smashed the Crusaders. Singh, Roney and Marks are the ones to watch out for from that team. They only have 4 year 12s in the team so they will be extremly competitive next season.

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

Geelong College vs. Melbourne Grammar
Melbourne won the toss and decided to bat on a belta of a wicket. Got off to a flyer with all of the top order making contributions, Payne Looked to be the pick of the order but Dunnell also batted well for 63 probably throwing away a hundred. Over night Melbourne were 7/257 adn then in the morning Gooley made his fifty to be unbeaten on 67. Melbourne making an impressive 335 all out. The pick of the Bowlers were Probably Beaumont with 3/55 of 15 and part timer Shaw Kitchen got 2/69 off 26 overs. College's inning got of to a flyer going a run a ball for the first 10 overs. Then the wicket of Kitchen fell adn Melbourne slowed the run rate down with the help of their little left handed spinner Bett with 37 overs 13 maidens 2/64. Good future for this lad. At Lunch College were 2/ 130 ish adn in an alright position. After the break Nice was Dismissed and Bramham in his first APS first XI game made a well constructed 50. At tea College were needing about 130 in the last session with 6 wickets in hand, 3 quick wickets after tea got melbourne right back in it, the score at 7/274Matt Lugg(30*) Ned Rogerson(28*) put on 62 runs to get the needed 6 points for Geelong College. What a win.....The Best i have ever been a part of. Everyone that Batted for geelong made more than 20
Kitchen(34) Nice(41) Hartnell(37) Bramham(50) Weddell(44) Taylor(21) Henderson(25) Lugg(30*) Rogerson(28*)

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

Haileybury 138
No big scores from big names
Bayard 30 or so
Tyrell 20 or so

Carey 65
No good batsman - girl stood up when guys couldnt crack a phat
Tormey few wickets
Lynch few wickets

Haileybury 100 declared

Carey, needing 170 to win in about 2 and a half hours never looked the goods.
made about 9/120 or so before close of play with a massive LBW shout on second last ball denying HC outright victory.

Tormey 4 fa

overall, HC shouldve won outright but didnt play well enough to clench it
Carey (namely the girl) stood up and did well to not lose outright.

(might just add that the deck was an alright batting pitch but for movement with the new ball)

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

Meg from Carey is one of the solidest bats going round in the APS. she puts high price on her wicket and backs it up with a strong technique. Because of this she would have to be the best bat in the Carey team. She gave the best cricket school in Victoria a run for there money, and Haileybury had difficulty getting her out in bouth innings. Its a good thing that shes playing because Carey really are battlers

the new bloke they have from NT is pretty sharp and should have a few batsman in trouble for the remainder of the season. Hes no patto though.

Haileybury dominated Carey as you can see by the scores. Non scholarship players stood up with the bat in this game. Bayard with 23 in the 1st inns and another 20 odd in the 2nd, and Tyrrell made 22* on debut. Goes to show that they dont rely on the scholarships because theres plenty of talent going round.

love you

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

yeah i agree. the non-scholarship guys in the HC team stood up on the weekend. for once HC shows a bit of depth.

any other scores...?

Could not get 100 at Xavier. Will Singh ever get runs when it matters?

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

i know haileybury have a buy.

interested in knowing who melbourne and xavier playing, and maybe even skevs. and where there playin at.

thanks

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

BGS top 4 is pretty good. Should have a big one this week. Thye played like ******** last game against xavier. They lost their last 7 wickets for 12 runs.

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

I'd back Caulfield to beat everyone from here on in except Scotch, and possibly Melbourne or Xavier.

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

i rekon xavier is a good chance of contending for the aps premiership they beat hailibury in a practice match easily and have some good players and some good young and up coming players

Re: APS Season 2006/2007

Geelong College again travelled away to record a great win..
BGS
225 all out
Davis 55
Marks 38
John 31
Beaumont 4/36
Rogerson 3/56
Geelong College
331 for 7
Kitchen 181
Bramham 42
Nice 32
Taylor 27
Singh 2/40
Another great win for College who had we beaten geelong grammar would be 4 wins and 1 loss instead being 3 and 2, Shaw Kitchen in Year 11 recorded the 6th highest score in College History and the highest againist BGS and Tom Beaumont and Andrew Bramham deserve a mention, Tom collecting 7 wickets in the last two games and Andrew Bramham new to the school has scored 50 and 42 in the last two weeks.
