At some stage on Monday he left the clubrooms and went home so technically speaking he is gone.

Plenty v Lower Eltham
As predicted by AbsoluteGlam last week, clearly the best two sides of Barclay Shield have made the big dance, and won’t it be a beauty – the bowling of Plenty vs the all round game of Lower Eltham.
Plenty
Batting
Both openers Curtain and Connelly have been solid this year but Burgoyne holds the key to their demise, look for these two to attack early and often to throw the Lower bowlers off. The middle order is strong without being exceptional, with the two stalwarts in Love and Pavey holding the key, while Zull generally doesn’t do his best work at this end of the season. Look for Lower Eltham to introduce their spinners against the veterans to get Pavey and co. to force the pace. Batting depth is the real worry for Plenty, and should Ron McKinnon and Luke Burgoyne get early breakthroughs Plenty may well be up against it to post a competitive total. KEY: Pavey – a big game player.

Strength in numbers is the theme here, with Whitcher the only real star, surrounded by plenty of younger bats with potential to score heavily. Any team with Jethro Still and Matt Tucker at 8 and 9 respectively are going to be difficult to knock over cheaply, but the formline for Lower isn’t so strong, with the 2 opening positions brittle. Whitcher and Digger Curtis hold the key to a big total in the top order, while Captain Callum Still and the younger Salvatore will be the agressors. The issue will be early wickets as Plenty have relied on 3 bowlers all year, so batting for time and ensuring they use their second stringers will be a focus no doubt. I can see Hubber and Rosbrook slicing through the Lower top order. KEY - Whitcher
Verdict
A difficult game to predict, however the balance lies in Plenty’s ability to get early wickets against Lower’s ability to get a 150+ 1st innings total. For what it’s worth, I think Plenty are ripe for the picking and Lower, while not a super team, have an evenness that may get them over the line.

Pffft....a grossly overated slogger....ok he's got away with it once or twice, but when the pressure is on, he'll get bowled trying to be the hero and smash one to cow corner...........and has he ever spun one?

Have you played against him Harry?? I have a couple of times and while he is a bit loose he is pretty talented and hits the ball cleanly, as for his bowling I don't think he is a brilliant spinner but the one thing he does is spin the ball, which leads me to believe you don't really know what you are talking about possibly????? Who is a better player in this comp. under the age of say 23???
if he had that much talent, and at his age he should be playing higher....he's a slogger who dont spin it....and a few clubs have a better u23 than him..just because he's confident dont make him any good....bye the way I do applaud him for his captaincy job...

Well, after what has been an unbelievable season of interruptions and lost days, we are right at the very pointy end of the season - the grand finals. And congratulations to the two teams that have survived to fight out for the ultimate prize.
I pretty well agree with the preview posted by AbsoluteGlam.
Perennial finalists, and in fact grand finalists, Plenty appear to have a very solid all-round squad that will certainly challenge the, at time brittle Lower Eltham group. Lower will take comfort from their win over Plenty, albeit way back in Round 4. It should be the Plenty bowlers that push the favourites to the win.

This is potentially one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. There's plenty of cricketers who go to district who aren't that good, and there's also more than enough that stay at home in the Valley because they cant make the commitments to district cricket. So your theory is wrong.
Having played against him, I'd say that he's more than capable of taking a team apart- but reckless. no slogger.
You did however manage to name the true most overrated cricketer in the Valley....... McLean.

I agree this should be a cracker of a grand final. I cannot wait till 1pm. Hope to see heaps of supporters and reckon I will, I know the Eltham lads will have the beer on ice and plenty of food.

Callum is one of the most talented all round cricketers going around and yes he spins the ball.
By the way Lower to win , best spin attack in the comp v best pace attack, i will back the spinners.
If the LE can get at least 2 early wickets then the spinners will do the rest.

Yeah im with everyone else this game will be a belter!!!
Probably where the game will be won and lost is our batting vs their bowling. Our batting hasnt fired this year and im hoping this is the match where it will all click.

Not really an exciting match, Plenty again flex their muscles when it counts - Hubber is an absolute champion of our competition - almost has to be recognised as best to play in the DVCA possibly apart from Keaysy and maybe Baker?? I thought Lower did a reasonable job with the ball, lacked fire power in regards to a quick but not bad all the same. And even though they have been rocked for around 100 I didn't think they batted all that poorly, just exceptional bowling. They just couldn't score and eventually nicked off. McCutcheon played a poor shot early and Whitcher got bowled around his legs which almost closed the game out I thought at 3/29.
Game has been played hard, a few drunk gooses from both sides saying some ridiculous things but all in all pretty well behaved, although I think a couple of the Plenty players would be a touch embarrassed with the way they celebrated some wickets but I suppose if you win a flag you can do what ever you want!!!

Which players would you be refering too absouluteglam?
I think you will find there is alot of recent history between the two clubs and this one means alot to both teams. Wouldnt have thought the celebrations on saturday were any less vibrant when they took some key wickets. As thay say if you dish it out you had better be able to cop it back twice as hard.

On another note I would like to be the first to congratulate Lovie, Paves and Hubbs on what has been 3 of the best careers in recent DVCA history.
All 3 have contributed so much to our club over the last 10 years. The club wouldnt be in the strong position we are in today without their services. They are the only blokes who have played in all 5 (hopefully 6) Barclay Shield premierships in our great era. Each winning club championships along the way and more importantly have all had a massive influence in our strong junior development program in coaching junior sides or specialist one on one coaching with our kids.
If clubs want a blue print on how to have sustained success at their club, then the most important thing I would say is when recruiting senior players do your homework and look at people who have the attributes of these blokes. Talented, good clubmen, and most importantly family orientated.

I don't really know about the history, just commenting from an outsider I suppose but I didn't like some of the reactions of Lovey but as you say, I don't know what he copped when he batted. Lower have a few chirpy fellas (C.Still, Burgoyne, Curtis) so no doubt there was a bit happening!!!
Congrats to Lovey and Hubber, two of the best I have seen and super blokes on and off the field, Lovey just a geniune great leader. Pavey also a good player but I'm not a fan of his as a bloke.
Do we add 'Big Game Player' next to Callum Still now? was it slogging '0' or i'll prove i can bat '0' ??

His first senior 50 was in a grand final......... against Plenty.
He also bowled his team back into the game on the weekend... you don't sound very educated cricket wise- or u've got somethin personal against him.
