Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Aren't you Westerners glad you stole Nofke?

The only bowler with a good economy rate in a 300+ score and a good run out.

And it's good to know that while Symonds scores a whole 4 runs in his return for Queensland he can still take bloody magnificent catches.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

This is too easy, the season is almost over already with the bottom 3 sides looking rubbish and no one knows what NSW will do, but past history suggests they will be in the bottom half

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Can someone please shoot Mark Waugh

After the brilliant test level NSW batting lineup all failed he has now got his voice back and is screaming as if he is witnessing the greatest batting performance ever seen

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Come on Eddie, dont mind junior as a commentator, I remember he had a brief stint with Ch 9 back in 2002 in the Winter when Pakistan game out for a 3 match ODI series that we used to play for a while during the winter months.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

He is the most biased commentator in the history of cricket and he doesnt even try to hide it just outright cheering every NSW boundary like it was the shot of the century

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

You haven't heard some of those English fools on Sky?

What about Bill Lawry, I love the man but he is bias as all hell, when Australia was chasing down Englands 160 odd at Adelaide in 2006 as the target got closer his commentary just resorted to the following.

Bowler bowls- Bastmen plays shot - Lawry: "SHOT"

Even if the ball came off the edge, it was "SHOT".

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Christ it's raining boundaries at North Sydney. Tasmania in a decent position in the run chase to knock off the Blues.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Tasmania cruise home, NSW were always about 40 runs short at North Sydney and against a team with a weak bowling attack but very strong batting lineup

But it seems now as we are only halfway through November that the one day season is officially over, only thing left to see is if Victoria fall away enough to finish 2nd instead of cruising through the season undefeated

Pretty embarrassing for NSW International strength batting lineup today with only a young bloke who is a bowler actually doing any damage and even their bowling had no firepower in it, Clark has always been ordinary in the shorter form

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

I love the unbiased reporting on cricket.com.au

Tasmania has cruised to a surprise six-wicket wicket win over a star-studded NSW in the Ford Ranger Cup clash at North Sydney Oval

Suprise? To who? :D

Gotta love it.

But I did think it a bit surprising. With the long line of batsman there I thought it would be a win for the Blues. Good that it wasn't ;)

And just think eddie, that reporting did exactly what they planned and hooked you onto the bias and got you to read the article and now advertise the site:D

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

There batsmen aren't really suited to ODI cricket.

Warner is hit or miss, same with Hughes.

Katich and Clarke aren't exactly elite batsmen at one day level.

Jacques is on the way back from injury.

It looked to me like Clarke was having a net - like he forgot that he actually needs to score runs.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

I think Warner will come a long way in ODI, but you are right, hit and miss at the moment.

Hughes either scores a century or nothing (a bit of an exaggeration but it is mostly true).

Katich and Clarke aren't the best at international level but they can easily pull their weight domestically. It's strange that Katich scores a lot of his Test innings of about a strike rate of 80, and yet he is no longer anywhere near contention for an ODI placing.

Jaques is the same as the above two, but on the way back from injury as you said.

The other domestic batsman are also quite reasonable. So I was expecting a better performance really, especially from the bowlers.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

NSW dont have the batting lineup to win at North Sydney against Tassie

If Tassie can make 300 on the MCG against the no1 team in the comp then NSW were always going to need 320 and too many slow batsmen in the side, they ****ed up the team balance no doubt and even the bowling attack was a bit weak for a flat deck

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Yep, bringing in international players screws up the balance as they spend a whole year sorting things out then suddenly a player comes back and they have to play.
