Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

WA finally looks like they are going have a decent innings with the bat, 2 for 211 of 40 overs with Voges just playing on. Robinson was very impressive with some nice striking in his 70, Marsh despite an average start being dropped on 0 by Warner looking at a ton win his brother joining him at the crease.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Now here's a theory. If you want Shaun Marsh to score a century, all you have to do is make the fielder drop him on a low score.

Very good batting though. Hope WA do really well here.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Mitch Marsh is going a little crazy since I looked back from my last post... S/R of 260.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Nice 6 by Mitchell smashed straight down the ground, Shaun finally out for 116.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

WA bouncing back with a vengeance, obviously stinged by the embarrassment of a bonus point loss to these hacks earlier this month

NSW look headed for another wooden spoon, shame WA probably cant catch QLD, would like a final against the boys from the west

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

And now there is none.

All out for 180. Fine game that was and well done to the Warriors.

Henriques topped the scorecard for the Blues with 59 with the only other player to notch up anything half useful being Steve Smith's 47.

Fat Smith must have made 47, the next Superstar Smith made just 8

Doubt we'll even finish top three. Our form is too erratic to make a final unless we win pretty much every game for the rest of the season and hope Queensland start dropping games.

Good to see that we can play good cricket. Shaun Marsh is in very good one-day form (continuing on from India) and Mitch Marsh looks to be a super player. Bowling was good as well, Heal made a nice return to form (4/57) but was a little expensive.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Great to have a win over eddie's mob :D Ronchi finding more form and M.Marsh scoring 60 runs.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Don't know what's going on with the Bushrangers at the moment. Two losses in the space of a few days with a full-strength batting line-up against a couple of teams that have struggled in recent times. Especially considering our relative dominance in this form of the game, it is most concerning.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

The bowling attack has been weakened so much thats the problem, but we have played the 2 other top teams in the space of 4 days on different sides of the continent, a shocking schedule really

But a 2nd placing might be good, we havent played QLD at the GABBA in the final yet and they lost their last home 50 over final :D

As for having a full strength batting lineup, sure but its the bowlers who lost both games

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Ronchi's form has been good. Hopefully he can keep it up and get back in line for national selection again. WA are looming as the dark-horse at the moment, two pretty good wins from the last two games. Things are seemingly looking a lot better, M Marsh is scoring runs, Ronchi is looking good. Hopefully Pomersbach is back into the side in the new year as he has been scoring a glut of runs at district level.

As for the last over, why was it bowled by Pattinson? Surely you'd get McKay to bowl the final over.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

It may not be the strongest bowling attack we could field, but McKay, McDonald & Holland are all recognised by the national selectors as good enough for consideration. Hastings and Pattinson are supposed to be up to it. I didn't see any of the game, but Ljp raises a good question. Why have McKay & Holland not bowled their full quota, and Hodge allowed to seemingly hand Ronchi & co. 3 overs of free hits?

Tassie are playing good cricket. NSW are a handful at full strength, yet we lost to teams that I wouldn't class as being a shadow of their former selves.

You really are a stirrer aren't you Eddie, if I were you I'd be keeping quiet after what happened at the MCG earlier this year. Ripped to shreds by a modest Queensland attack, the Shield win surely has a question mark over it considering the flat deck dished out at the junction.
