hussey has to make a sizeable contribution in his next test or he will be gone, and if they dont drop him then maybe we should start looking at the selectors. i i think he"s failed in 5 of the last 6 series now.Boris;344738 said:exactly. at least i know there is somebody else out there that believes in hussey. he will come back, and when he does its going to be good.
hattrick;344837 said:Guys.. there are a few thins not being said here so I am gonna say.
Australia need to find a solid opening partnership.. Haddin and Clarke are to alike.. and it builds pressure, as they dont score consistency. A fit shaun marsh walks into the team in my mind.
This leads to my next point.. Punter is facing far too much of the new ball .. I think the consistency will come.. he is the best australian batsman currently..
Mike Hussey has had some shocking umpiring decisions .. in the one dayers. there is no way he was out LBW of his bat in cape town , durban ...
I am thinking what is wrong with Callum Ferguson.. he needs some time in the middle.. and some luck.
Also the death bowling like south africa's is not working properly.. 80 and 90 in the last 10 is gonna cost you matches.
Secondly also a spinner ... not Bryce McCain.. is needed in the one dayers.. building pressure in the middle overs is vital.. compare the middle overs when Botha, van der Merwe, Duminy, Kallis is bowling.. to the middle overs of australia. Hauritz works for the postal agency as he travels..
I must add that James Hopes has been impressive.. and the australian fielding has not been its trusty self.. also note that Bracks is struggling..
I hope I am not being arrogant or insensitive.. but the truth is it well get better...
Also I am unaware of anyone except Phil Hughes I would bring into the squad.. I do not know how he went in the Ford Ranger Cup?? or who are other candidates ..
did you even read my post ?, i didnt say ponting wasnt our best batsman, i just said because of his age and the pressure of being captain for some time now that i think he deserves a breather at 5, most great no3s of the past have gone to no5 in the twilight of there careers and i see no reason why punter shoudnt, and if you think husseys test match form is anything better than shit then ill ask you this question, what planet are you from ? if you dont mind me asking, and i do have patience, its just run out, thats all.LIONS then DAYLIGHT;344734 said:Do you mind me asking how old you are?
Ponting is still by far and away our best batsmen.
Hussey played a great innings in the first ODI.
Have some patience.

Mousey;344922 said:Hughes averaged about 27 last year in the FRC. Marsh and Haddin will do for me.
Marsh
Haddin
Ponting
Clarke
Ferguson
M. Hussey
Hopes
Johnson
Hauritz
Bracken
Siddle
Ferguson has been good so get him up the order with M. Hussey as the finisher. Hauritz has been good at restricting the flow of runs bar one game, the last. I want Siddle in there too.

fair batting line up that, id probably have mitch ahead of lee, but then again mitches ODI batting is shit compared to his test batting. i do like both the husseys in there, there both smart busy cricketers, as for hopes, a fit watson will do me over him.Boris;344937 said:No there isnt. if you look at Mousey's best team there are three spots in my opinion that are under a lot of threat when everyone is back fit. these are hauritz, ferguson and siddle. the possible players to fill these positions i think should be symonds, d.hussey, lee, clark, harwood and geeves. if everyone was fit this would be my side in this order.
1. Haddin
2. Marsh
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Symonds
6. D. Hussey/Ferguson (whoever is best at the time)
7. M. Hussey
8. Hopes
9. Lee
10. Johnson
11. Bracken
if the sides bowling comes under pressure because there is only 4 full time bowlers there (Hopes, Lee, Johnson, Bracken)(which should be enough with Symonds, D. Hussey and Clarke in their bowling as well) then Clark, Siddle, Hauritz, Harwood, Geeves, etc could take D.Hussey/Ferguson's spot. i would like to put johnson above lee, but i am afraid that lee wouldnt let him do that. he has worked hard for that spot and wont give it up without a fight!
lol, i dont like watson either, he"s a bit to animated for me.Boris;344941 said:i think watson has missed out. he is a good player and all, just i dont think there is room for him, plus he is continually getting injured. i kind of formed a hatred of him too after what he did in the SS final.
i like having really strong batting lineups for ODIs. i prefer to have the more all-rounder type bowlers, plus more all-rounders then usual. like lee, johnson and bracken can all bat really well. i think ODIs are more a batsman's game. i did include that option that if the bowlers werent going well enough to have that extra one in there though. you cant win the game if you dont have runs, so if you have bowlers that can score a lot for you, plus be good enough to bowl well, then i would have them in any day ahead of most other normal bowlers.
like i said about johnson and lee, lee has spent his whole career earning that spot if you remember the battles he had with warne and other bowlers to keep his spot as the first bowler in the lineup, and now johnson has come in and shown how good he is. i dont think lee would relinquish his spot easily, even if it is for the better of the team.![]()
